Okay, you know I’m not a Rails web hosting services analyst, so I can’t keep up with everyone. But here’s my share: (this may look like an advertisement, but I’m writing this from a customer’s point of view)
- I’m already a happy customer of LunarPages and now they’ve improved their packages by several folds! The basic $6.95/mo plan now provides 250 GB storage (formerly 35 GB which was already spacious) and 2500 GB bandwidth. Immerse yourself with unlimited storage and 3 TB bandwidth if you get its Business plan. For those needing Subversion, shell access, or any of the fancy stuff may want to opt for their affordable VPS.
- SpeedyRails provides shared and dedicated hosting for your Rails applications. You get 60 MB for each Mongrel instance. A SpeedyRails admin, Maykel Rodriguez, participated in several IOI and ACM programming contests so it’s kind of a bond between us too since I was also participating in these events.
- I’ve been several months with HostingRails and I say they really live up to their words. Everything is smooth, no problems except my own troubles which is due to my lack of familiarity with their setup, but their staff, William, helped me through every problem with patience. Issues with PostgreSQL, Subversion, Trac, Capistrano are resolved in no time.
- For those of you needing the limo of Rails hosting, EngineYard would be your excellent choice. If you think their slice-based packages seem expensive, think again.
I guess that sums up my update for now. If you need more, see the updated Rails Hosting reviews page specially prepared for you.
